The northwestern DO of Tenerife, facing the open Atlantic. Dry and windswept at lower altitudes, greener and cooler higher up. The least well-known of Tenerife's five DOs but has interesting wines, particularly whites with a salty Atlantic character.
Atlantic influence is strongest here -- the northwest coast faces the trade winds directly. Whites show a saline, fresh character. Reds are lighter, more approachable. This is also the zone of some traditional Canarian grape rarities.
